On December 16, I walked through quiet and empty streets during the first real snowstorm in 2 years. It’s not every day you can walk in the middle of a road unencumbered. And who knows when it will snow again?
The plows had been through but the snow continued to cover the lanes they created. My boots crunched the icy coating sleet topped the flakes with. It turned back to all snow and continued to fall through early Thursday. After about 6 inches this time, I’m hoping for much more this Winter.
My favorite photo is not always the best one I’ve taken recently. It can be one that’s imperfect in composition perhaps but still manages to perfectly capture how I was feeling or something I want to remember, like my first date this year with snow.
DSF’s Photo of the Month is published on the last Sunday of each month.
Oh great shot!

I love the mood this photo captures. I know what you mean, who knows when it will snow again? I’m glad you had a chance to walk down this quiet street while the snow was still falling… Beautiful!

Thank you, Barbara! We have storms in the forecast, but it’s all rain. Sad face. Gotta enjoy it when it’s here. Hopefully, it’ll come back soon!
