I’m a musical gal, from my wee days taking piano and drum lessons, to my current stint in a community choir. Listening to music is what going to church is for some, so I celebrate with Sunday Song. Each week, I post a song that’s been my earworm for the week or something that reflects what’s happening in my world along with a wee story why.
Twas on The YouTube looking at videos to go with one of several lil’ tales I could have shared this week. Whilst there, YouTube suggested I watch this one video, then another, then another… like a skinny friend offering your chubby self cookie after cookie when they KNOW you’re trying not to eat cookies… But I digress. I clicked and jammed. I clicked and jammed. Repeat.
Then, as if often does, The YouTube offered up a version of one of my many favorite songs, a version I had not yet heard.
This… THIS!
This woman is THE quintessential female rock vocalist. No one, and I mean NO ONE, has topped her (and probably won’t). The best part: this is an acoustic version that really lets her voice shine. (The second best part: after listening to many videos with which I sang along to practice for choir, I listened to this and said to myself, “And you think you can sing?” then scrolled down the comments and someone wrote, “And you think you can sing?” RIGHT?!?)
Enjoy the song stylings of a single sensation, the best female rock vocalist of all-time — Ann Wilson of Heart. Just listen to that voice!
Sunday Song is a new series here at DaisySmileyFace.com (check out all we do here). I post a song that’s been my earworm for the week or something that reflects what’s happening in my world. (Feel free to join in by posting in the comments — thoughts about my video/what it means to you, a video you’re enjoying this week, etc.)
I totally see what you mean. Amazing singer!

A great find. Her voice is wonderful. I like your earworm this week. Of course, now I’ve got it, too.

To that I’ll say YOU’RE WELCOME. I’ll take Ann Wilson earworms over, say, the macarena any day! 🙂

T Siz,
Ann Wilson has the kind of pipes you cannot buy. You got it or you don’t got it, and boy, does she got it. The kind of range you find out west, in the canyons . . like that.
You offer a most appealing ear worm with your Sunday entrees!

Ann Wilson has a great voice … depending on need, it can be subtle or powerful. Good choices – especially as an acoustic version.

It’s funny, Heart is one of those bands that I lost my love for, or rather no longer top of my faves list from back in the day.
However, this version is sublime!
