Song Lyric Sunday: Car

As the great musical poet Kiki Dee once said, “I’ve got the music in me.” Seriously, music is part of my daily life, so I participate in Song Lyric Sunday. This week’s theme is car.

Twas listening to a YouTube mix o’ tunes I’ve listened to recently (popping occasionally from a writing window to the YouTube window to see the videos) when the song for this week’s theme popped on and I said THAT ONE!

It fits the theme as there are highway signs, roads, and eventually the word and an actual car. But the title is just perfect for how I’ve been feeling this week (… the past almost two years). Plus! It’s September 1 (as I write this). It’s a new year (to me). I always feel a bit feisty and fresh as the new year gets underway and Autumn approaches. With the weight of summer lifted (or lifting), I feel like engaging and taking on the world. Songs like this give me a mojo boost to follow through.

Shame On You*

*The name of the song is misidentified on their website, shockingly, as Shaming of the Sun (like the album name), but it’s Shame on You. Lyrics there.
