Some weeks I participate in Share Your World, a weekly blog challenge some of the cool kids I know take part in. Welcome to a wee part of Tara’s world!
Which tastes better: black or green olives?
I like the green ones. When I was a wee one, I used to love to eat them right out of the jar, sucking the pimento out of the center and then chewing away at that delicious green tasty treat!
What’s your favorite room in your home?
I’m an introvert so, after people-ing all day, there’s nothing better than escaping to any room all by myself. It could be the luxury of a quiet shower in the bathroom, or the solitude of writing in the office, or the serenity of my bedroom with my (flameless!) lavender candles lit and my oceans sound machine playing. Basically, any room sans people is what this introvert needs to recharge.
What fictional family would you be a member of?
OH.EM.GEE. How to choose? There are the Gilmores, of course, and I’d love to live in Stars Hollow. Of course, I’d want to be a Gilmore girl with Lorelai and Rory, not live with Emily and Richard. Then there are the Walshes from Beverly Hills, 90210. I could spend my time getting hair gel tips from Brandon and telling Brenda to stop being such a beyotch. The Land of the Lost people — if I was with them, though, they wouldn’t have gotten lost, what with my awesome sense of direction, and ergo we wouldn’t know what a Sleestak is. … After thinking about it a wee bit, I’ve decided to go with two families that aren’t the typical kind. The first would be the girl gaggle of The Facts of Life. It made boarding school look like fun, the girls were like sisters, and Mrs. G always had good advice. The other would be the family on board the Starship Enterprise, with Captain Jean-Luc Picard at the helm, on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Those friends were like family and they always worked together to get the job done, and had fun, too.
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
The women’s all-around gymnastics competition last night — watching those girls twist, twirl, and tumble is amazing. Also! Speaking of The Sports, realizing that the U.S. Open Tennis Championships start next week. (A) I love to watch tennis and (B) this tournament means that summer is just about over. YAY!
