Share Your World ~ Nineteen

Some weeks I participate in Share Your World, a weekly blog challenge some of the cool kids I know take part in. Welcome to a wee part of Tara’s world!

Share Your World

A piece of clothing from your younger childhood you still remember?

Two t-shirts: one had my name on it, made special for me, because back in the day, NOTHING had T-A-R-A on it; the other, my Dr. Pepper I’m A Pepper shirt, “purchased” by drinking tons o’ soda (the whole fam) then submitting labels. Remember when you could submit labels from things and get free stuff? I. Am. OLD.

Irregardless of your physical fitness, coordination or agility: If you could be an athlete what would do do? Remember this is SYW, dreaming is always allowed.

I would be a figure skater and do the prettiest layback spin ever. Like Adam Rippon (yes, the boy does circles around the girls on that move).

In a car would you rather drive or be a passenger?

I like driving, but it’s been a while since I’ve been a passenger on a regular basis. I like being the passenger during my sunset drives (twilight) so I can look around at nature and people (on the street, in open, lighted windows — I always wonder what they’re doing, how they got there… I’m a writer so I can’t help but want to know their stories.)

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I made myself smile! On May 29, twitter was all into #PoemToWelcomeSummer. This is what I posted:

You’re sweaty and you’re stinky.
The Fall countdown is on.
With love from she whose greatest wish
Is summer being gone.

*bows*

  1. I like to be a passenger, but seem to spend more time driving than passengering. Perhaps if we lived in a smaller town I could walk to many of my destinations, but being a ‘burbs babe it’s all about getting behind the wheel.

  2. I got some great stuff for ten cents and two cereal box tops. In the same vein, remember the records they’d put on cereal boxes? Never could get them to play more than once. And all the great stuff they put in cereal boxes and Cracker Jack (“Candy-coated popcorn, peanuts and a prize! That’s what you get with Cracker Jack!”). I’m old, too.

    1. I remember (vaguely) getting a plastic 45 or two from a cereal box. You’re right. They didn’t play well at all. Cracker Jack used to have the best prizes! Now it’s only ever baseball team stickers. Boo! BOOOOOOOO! πŸ™‚

  3. If I could be an athlete, I would play in the NBA. I’ve always loved the sport. Prob is, while I can shoot, I can’t jump or run or defend . . and I’m height challenged as per the average NBA baller . . so yanno.
I saw Adam Rippon in Hershey recently. What a crowd pleaser that kid is!

    Peace and (Dr) Pepper!

    1. Isn’t Steph Curry tiny, you know, comparably speaking? Just stand at the three-point line and shoot! πŸ™‚

Adam Rippon is awesome! I haven’t seen him live… yet. Lucky you!

      D.P. FOREVER!

      1. True story, lots of peeps don’t like Curry. Probably because he possesses the stature of a regular chap and yet he can make the big kids look like total fools. Which is why I dig him very much, actually.
