Song Lyric Sunday: Phone Calls/Calling

song lyric sundayAs the great musical poet Kiki Dee once said, “I’ve got the music in me.”

Seriously, though, music is part of my daily life. I sing every day. I’m always listening and/or dancing to something. So when I found Song Lyric Sunday, I just had to participate!

This week’s theme is phone calls/calling.

I first heard this song through Pandora Internet radio. All music doesn’t have to have deep meaning for me. I enjoy my guilty pleasures as well (Ricky Martin… I’m looking at you). This one has outstanding harmonies so every time Pandora plays it, the volume goes up. I also become the fifth member of this boy band.

It’s Anthem Lights and their Best of 2012 MASHUP: Call Me Maybe (Carly Rae Jepsen) x Payphone (Maroon 5) x Wide Awake (Katy Perry) x Starships (Nicki Minaj)

I don’t particularly like any of these songs on their own, though I admit to singing Payphone at the top of my lungs in the car on previous occasions. Aside: For the youth, a payphone is a non-flat phone — one with a handle and a base … I’m going to need graphics to go with this, I think — that requires coins to operate. They used to be found everywhere humans were found, except when really needed, then, of course, there wasn’t a phone in sight (or you had no coins to make the call). /end aside

Play and sing along!

Call me maybe at a payphone wide awake standing on a starship waiting while we’re young… tonight…
