Song Lyric Sunday: Sugar/Candy

song lyric sundayAs the great musical poet Kiki Dee once said, “I’ve got the music in me.”

Seriously, though, music is part of my daily life. I sing every day. I’m always listening and/or dancing to something. So when I found Song Lyric Sunday, I just had to participate!

This week’s theme is sugar/candy.

After indulging in so many holiday treats, the turntable in my brain’s jukebox was already spinning on 78 rpm. Upon hearing this week’s theme, this gem then popped into my head quickly, and I managed to slow down the turntable enough to enjoy the smooth sound, the Beatles-esque melody, and the crescendo about halfway through, properly.

I give you then, without further ado, from her last original studio album Sing It Loud, released in 2011, it’s k.d. lang and Sugar Buzz.

Sometimes I wish
I never tasted this
What on earth is this stuff

Amen, sister.

Full rockin’ band:

Sugar Buzz

Oh, sweet thing, you’re just like a sugar buzz
Doing to me just
What sugar does
The hardest fall
There ever was
High so high like I was on some devil’s drug
You lift me up
Straight to the top
Suspended bliss
Until I drop
Can’t get enough
I can’t live without it
Can’t get enough
Of what this love does to me
To me, sugar buzz
You got me wound up tight as I could be
Spinning like the world
Without its gravity
Sometimes I wish
I never tasted this
What on earth is this stuff
Can’t get enough
I can’t live without it
Can’t get enough
Of what this love does to me
To me
Can’t get enough
Of what this love does to me
To me
Can’t get enough
Of what this love does to me
Sugar buzz

    1. William… Bill… dear friend… of all the people in the world, you are one of my favorites. I would never EVER unfollow you. The Twitter is evil, filled with minions with devilish intentions.

      You are a gem. 🙂
