#WeekendCoffeeShare: Humid Hello

WCS Tea BagIf we were having coffee (and/or my delicious black iced tea), I’d tell you that this week being soooo July means I shall repeat my format from last week, lest I work up a sweat from typing. Plus, people liked it! GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!

Let’s chat.

So y’all like a list! With colons! Well, let’s do it again then!

Week, in general: Work is work, which is why they call it that. Singing takes place in the car and also as I’m wandering about the house. Oh! Speaking of sounds, I heard one of the ones that alerts us to the fact that summer is about half over: the song of cicadas. I always imagine they’re saying, “Summer’s flying by. It’s almost done. Summer’s going bye. Have fun!” I know. That’s extremely involved. They’re probably just saying, “Bug. Bug. Bug. … Ima Bug. Bug. Bug.” Another sound I heard that is a harbinger of summer’s demise beginning: the TV sports guy said, “Football training camp starts in two weeks.”

Weather: Looooosiana swamp outside; Arctic tundra inside. My deodorant smells lovely, though (there’s no NOT sweating in this mess, so at least it activates the lavender scent…).

Espanish: Let’s just say the students lack enthusiasm. Surely my level is muy high (perhaps even, dare I say, over the top), but I likes to have fun. When the group says words together, it sounds like church used to — a bunch of people mumbling because they’re supposed to…

Treat of the week: Jelly Krimpets by Tastykake.

This week’s fun: Even fun must be kept to a minimum as I can’t expend too much energy lest I melt into a puddle of sweat or, if being too energetic, burst into flames. … … … Hmmm. I’m thinking of fun and it turns out I didn’t have enough this week. Even with the humidity, I must remedy that. STAT.

This week’s challenge: Coasters clinging to condensation-covered Starbucks and other cups as I try to lift them to my lips. It’s super fun when I don’t notice and then the coasters fall with a BANG! scaring me half to death. Well, that and the puddle of water the condensation creates in/on the coasters.

This week’s Bloggy Goodness:

  • Monday: Share Your World: Tres.
  • Tuesday: In this 21st Century, Resistance is not futile.
  • I didn’t ThursdayDoors, and I miss ThursdayDoors-ing. I like to take my time with those posts and when I’ve not been lacking time, I’ve lacked energy (see: humidity).

Warm is one thing. Feeling like I’m constantly covered in sweat is something else. The Philly metro area needs an antiperspirant this time of year. Do they make Arrid Extra Dry in a city size?

Until next time… sorry for the sticky sweat hug… Peace.

  1. We have some humidity here..but not like yours. Happy we only have it for a short time…just because. I do like the format and the colons!! It is a wonderful thing to find a format that works!!! You are probably right on about the Spanish class…you need to go out there and talk to real Spanish speakers to really get the hang of it. Church mumbling is way different from Spanish conversation. Buena suerte, chica. Hasta la vista..

  2. Oh, I hear you on the hot outside and artic inside. I went to Chilis for dinner this past week and froze. I was so uncomfortably cold. I have taken to bringing a hoodie along everywhere and that evening I thought, oh, I’ve been hot all day what’s the likelihood I’d be freezing? Evidently high. 🙂

Ugghhhh, Muggy here too. Welcome Monsoon2017. Well at least the bright side is that it’s been helping the wildland firefighters get a handle on all the wildfires that have been going around here. Hope you have a wonderful week.
