Snow Day

Pizza pizza
My Tomorrow’s a Snow Day celebratory homemade pizza.

6 p.m. Monday, March 13: Made homemade pizza to celebrate Tomorrow’s a Snow Day!

7:15 p.m. Snow Day Nap Mode beginning early as I nodded off watching Jeopardy! but woke as Final Jeopardy was being read. Nailed it, even in my sleep stupor.

12:01 a.m. today: Stayed up a lil’ late. Whee! I can sleep in tomorrow! Haven’t had a true snow day in years.

6:45 a.m.  What… is… that… banging? … … … *emerges from slumber slightly*… … … Snow doesn’t make noise when it hits the window. *turns TV on* … … … “mix of sleet and ice in this region…”

6:50 a.m.  Roll over and try to ignore pelting on the window, which sounds like someone’s hitting a nail with a hammer…

7:35 a.m.  Create sheet cocoon over exposed ear and snuggle further into blankets. Noise blocked enough to finally allow me to go back to sleep.

7:50 a.m.  What… is… that… noise….  Crawl out of bed and go to the bathroom. Peek out the blinds to see my idiot neighbor attempting to snowblow piles of ice. AT 7:50 A.M. Call him non-ladylike names in my head.

8:35 a.m. After the sounds stop, I fall back asleep.

10:35 a.m.  Wakey. Eat Frosted Flakes. Check work email. Read personal Twitter. Turn on Spotify.

11:15 a.m.  Boy, that Daughtry writes a catchy diddy.

12:30 p.m. Remember that the sun sets around 7 now. Shoveling, or should I say scraping since it’s mostly ice, can wait until later.

I’ll put my feet up, read, write. The nap has already told me it’s coming — I just don’t know when.

Snow/ice all you want today, lion that is mid-March (?… I thought you were supposed to go out this way). Make this your last roar. Please?

2:20 p.m. update: My attempt to use my new snowblower and my ergonomic shovel failed. 3 inches of snow on top of 3 inches of ice = too heavy and wet for the machine and for me. I wait for Mr. Plow Man who helps me to get me out with his big truck and large snow scoopy/pushy thingy…

I'm a writer who loves to laugh and smile. :-)
